Prerequisites:PHY 1924, 3103 and MAT 2213
HW/Exams:
Group projects/Class work worth total of 500 points:
  1. text reading tests: 5 points/test
  2. group problem solving: 1 point/problem
3 Hour Exams [27 SEP, 30 OCT, 29 NOV], each worth 100 points;
Final Exam worth 200 points



Course Focus:

  1. Learn the fundamental principles and theories of thermodynamics.
  2. Learn how to derive equilibrium thermodynamics from statistical mechanics.
  3. Apply the course material to problem solving and decision making.
  4. Develop communication and teaching skills; work as a member of a team.
